CAMERAS

topic posted Fri, January 18, 2008 - 12:37 AM by  Adrienne
I'm in the market to buy a new camera. My budget is 300 - 500 bucks.

You guys do what I do. I figure some of you must have some good suggestions.

I do not care if the camera has video. It is not important to me so much.

I DO care if I can get a higher dpi output - 300 dpi instead of 72 for example.....

I would rather have a bigger heavier camera over some credit card sized thing I can hide in my purse. I lose small things too easily. I want something that hurts my foot if I drop it on my foot .... not that I would ever drop my camera, but in theory ....

Opinions and suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance

I have not tried digital and spirit forms....do they photograph well with digital?

Digital cameras have a nasty tendency to insert orb-like artifacts into images. I have a bunch of images I saved because I was sure i had caught odd orbs where none should have been, and the orbs had structure and a weird pattern on them. They turned out to be created by the camera, not by actual paranormal phenomena.

That being said, nothing beats digital when it comes to cost of capturing hundreds of images. Use it, but remember that some things in the images *may* be from your camera and not Headless Bob, murdered on this spot in 1891. :-)

I think orbs are a buncha BS anyway. Anymore I would say that more often than not orbs are just dust. I inwardly laugh to myself when someone spazzes out about orbs.

Digital cameras produce orbs just as much as non digital.

Certain cameras are prone to something called 'artifacts' that tend to show anomilies in the shots. Always make sure you research your cameras fully ... which is what I'm in the process of doing now.

Yeah a guy I know was explaining that to me when I commented that he had a rather curious looking orb in his picture. I thought he was just trying to rationalize. I don't usually spaz out about orbs unless i see that it is recurrent in pictures of the same people. I have seen it occur with the same person in MOST pictures and it's always in the same spot....with different cameras from 35 mm to digital to disposable.

          yes...

i have seen alot of orb pictures... some of them were very intriguing to me... most of them were artifacts of dust and reflection...

but i have seen orbs... with my eyes... that are neither dust nor reflection...

i do not know what they are... but i have experienced the phenomena

I had an orb wander thru a stand of cottonwood trees near my old home in Loma Linda. It flew over the hood of my car and reflected light off the hood.

The only orbs that get me wound up is ones that I see a reflection on the floor with. And even then I am skeptical.

I am a member of the Orb Angst Society. ;)

What you saw was Venus. Or swamp gas.

California doesn't have swamps. Nice try though. Matter of fact the particular area was about 500 yards from my house. I had to drive through a field that was heavily wooded with cottonwood trees. I thought it was someone passing through with a flashlight. Granted it appeared they might have been skipping through dark woods at night but ... ok.

I didn't see it alone either. I had my cousin with me going WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF the whole time too. No clue what it was. Reminded me of the tinkerbell light on 'Hook' (the one with Robin Williams)

In areas that have active seismic faults at ground level, you might experience a plasma discharge phenomenon caused by stresses on subsurface quartz-bearing rock. Usually, this takes on an aurora-like appearance, but it has also been reported to manifest itself in glowing orbs.

Yeah I might buy that if there had been an earthquake or if I hadn't watched the thing bopping thru the trees for several hundred yards beofre reaching me. I slowed to a stop because I thought it was a person who was about to cross the road. I don't, as a habit, try to run people over. When it got to the car it was just a light at about hip high, bopping by and we watched it go into the cottonwoods on the other side of the road and around a building where it went from sight.

Not swamp gas, not dirty socks, not cow farts. It wasnt aurora. I know what that stuff looks like. This looked like someone walking in the dark carrying a flashlight. The shape was obviously round.
There was no wind. No lights nearby. Believe me, we looked around for an explaination and walked that stretch of woods in the dark, consulted the USGS website for any seismic activity (none found). There was no wind and the neighbors werent home that night. I'm not a spooked 15 year old kid telling a ghost story here. This happened when I was 32

                        Nice try though.

    Adrienne, got your camera yet?

If not, you must be deciding between some models by this time?
